I adore NOLA. Long ago I had Deanie’s Barbeque shrimp and it changed my life. I’m sure many would argue the merits of other restaurants’ preparation, but it’s my sentimental favorite. And I was told if you have chips with your PoBoy or muffalatta and it ain’t Zapp’s, you ain’t doin’ it right. And now I am addicted to their Voodoo and Voodoo Hot chips. ❤️
OMG I had Deanie's Barbeque Shrimp and it ALSO changed my life!! Did you have the creamy crab and crawfish dip with it? The waiter suggested it and I thought I had died gone to food heaven. Plus those red potatoes that have been boiled in cajun spices that they put on the table like bread...I dream of those.
I currently have six tarot decks. I love the art in the decks which is why I keep buying them and I do use them to help me think. I've only been to NOLA once and I can safely say we did not have any bad food from Commander's Palace where they made me the perfect Strawberry Shortcake (dinner was great too but that shortcake was done the way my Dad did them when I was a kid which is the correct way to do them, with a biscuit) to the little shop our City Tour driver took us to for a real shimp po' boy and everything in between. That is the food I grew up eating (made by my southern parents in Los Angeles) and it was so comforting to get grits done right, shrimp fried just right, and oh mah lord the hush puppies! xoxo

No creamy crawfish dip—will try next time in in town! Thanks for the rec!
I live in NOLA and I love the food. Have you been to Coop’s Place on lower Decatur?
Oh yes! It’s a favorite.
