I had no idea you were struggling. I'm happy to hear you are back on track. Wonderful insight here. I haven't felt that same pressure since my non-writing career took up so much of my time and energy and writing has been a release. Of course, I have no writing career at this point. I am still writing and trying to get off the schnide. I feel like things will change if I do get a publishing deal and the pressure begins with timers included. I'm a little worried about that frankly. I wish you nothing but huge success moving forward. Thanks for sharing this.
I love this post so much. That's kind of where I'm at now. Not all the way in burnout, but close. The family keeps me busy with activities and I'm pulled in a million directions. I'm excited to see what you have to say next week. The way I've been dealing with it is taking time off to binge watch Netflix, or at least an episode of one of my favorite shows. I've also been re-reading some of my favorite books and living in those worlds.
Your instincts to read for fun and give yourself little spaces of rest are good. Definitely check back next week. Also, I know it's scary. You'll be okay.
A friend sent me an email about this post with a recommendation to read this poem. "For the young who want to" by Marge Piercy.

Thanks, Stuart!
Amazing! I love this so much!
Not just for the young. ;)
I love this line: Creativity is a gift. Living a creative life is a privilege.
