Hello, friends!
Another week of lockdown, but we’re managing to make the best of it. Hope you are too. Below are a few things making life a little nicer right now.
Woo Plants
Yesterday, I finally put together the planter I ordered and planted it with petunias and herbs. Petunias are my springtime favorite. They smell great and make me happy. The herbs are oregano, parsley, basil, mint, lemon thyme, and rosemary. I might need to get another planter because I really want to plant some lettuce this year, too.
Overall, I’m trying to get my patio looking nice so I can spend some more time out there now that it’s warmer.

Woo Art
I found this adorable poster online. Someone had posted it as a meme and I tracked down from the Circe Institute. This is sort of my life philosophy encapsulated in a single image. I love it so much and it’s hanging next to my desk so I can look at it all the time and remember that I don’t exist just to consume things.

By the way, the two paintings hanging next to the poster were done by yours truly. The first is the bear from High Lonesome Sound. I based it on a postcard my MFA mentor sent me after I graduated. The other piece is from a photograph of my old panting teacher’s daughter. I love painting lazy women with books.
Woo Teaching
Tomorrow at 4pm CST, I am hosting a Zoom seminar on the art of craft great scenes. My friends at Writing Workshops Dallas are hosting. Participants will receive a recording of the session and a document with notes from the seminar. If you sign up now, you can get a 20% discount by entering the code ONLINE. Join us!
Next week, I’m also hosting another seminar on Internal vs External Conflict and how they work together to make excellent stories. That’s happening on April 30 at 4pm CST. Use the code ONLINE for 20% off that one, too.
That’s all the woo for today! Let’s talk about what’s woo with you in comments. Click the button to join the discussion.
Cool poster. It's sold out 😶.
Dug out the yuccas. Second year in a row. Anyone know the woo to get rid of them permanently?
Started writing the zombie story, woohoo.
Had a birthday. Ate all the cake, accidentally of course. Exercising like a mad woman, because of said cake.
And miss my friends.
Keep these posts coming, they are a comfort to know people I don't know personally, are still out there. Still working it and finding things to woo about.
