It’s Tarot time again!
This week’s card is the Three of Pentacles. I used Deborah Blake’s Everyday Witch Tarot deck again this week. (You may recall that there was a drawing for this deck. Keep reading to find out if you’re the winner.)

The Three of Pentacles is a teamwork card.
Theme words: Collaboration, Learning, Implementation
For your fiction:
One idea for this prompt is to look at your protagonist’s team. What helpers have you surrounded them with to help achieve their goal, either through direct assistance or mentorship or learning what not to do? How do they work together? How do their differences create more conflict? How can those conflicts be resolved?
Story Idea: Take a lone wolf and make them work on a team.
For you:
Who is on your team? Have you created your own support system for your creative goals? If you’re published, look at the teamwork between your editor and agent and yourself. Is everyone doing their job, including you?
If you’re not published, who is your support system—your beta readers, cheerleaders, mentors? Are they helping you? How are you contributing to them? Do you need to team up with other like-minded people?
Here’s an idea: Start a Mastermind group. I’m in the process of putting one of these together with other pro writers who also teach writing. We’ll meet once a month to discuss challenges, brainstorm and encourage each other. Here’s an article to help you get started: How to Start and Run a Mastermind Group.
Some more ideas: Try collaborating one a project with someone. Co-write a story, contribute to an anthology, or get a group of friends together for a game of Exquisite Corpse.
Did you find this interesting or helpful? Please share it with your friends!
Okay, Okay, But Did You Win?
As promised in my Woo Wednesday post this week, one lucky commenter will receive an Everyday Witch Tarot deck.
The winner is: ELLEN! (She of the Velocipastor recommendation)
Ellen, please email wellswritingworkshop-at-gmail-dot-com with your address and I’ll get that deck sent to you ASAP.
Thanks for playing everyone. You never know when I’ll give away something else, so be sure to check your email for each new edition of Wells Writing Workshop.
I love the three of pentacles. In current project, my mc has friends for the first time ever and she’s loving it
That card is so pretty! Congrats Ellen! I'm happy I have a pretty amazing team surrounding me. It definitely makes this whole writing thing a lot easier.
