When I shuffled the cards today and this message popped up I wasn’t sure whether to laugh or cry.
Today’s card is: Justice. It was reversed.

I don’t usually read reversals, but this one is too on-the-nose to ignore.
Reversed Justice is the card of social disturbance, bigotry, oppression, and police brutality. I’m not making this up. Here’s the meaning according to Tarot for Yourself by Mary K. Greer.

There are times when we can no longer ignore what’s going on. I could write a nice little post about writing and creative matters. I could ignore what’s happening in the world. That might be easier for all of us. But easy is not working anymore.
If you don’t know why the universe offered up this message today, you’re not paying attention to the world. Being a writer requires that we pay attention—especially when it’s hard to watch.
Today, I give you permission to not write. Don’t worry about your creative goals. Go watch. Listen. Witness.
The irony is that the empathy you gain will absolutely make you a better writer.
Do good. I love you.
