This week I’m using my new Modern Witch tarot deck by Lisa Sterle.
Today’s card leapt out of the stack when I was shuffling. It’s the Queen of Swords!

Theme Words: Boundaries, Unbiased Judgment, Directness, Clarity
Story Prompts
The Queen of Swords Character: This person will have an unflinching ability to cut to the truth of the matter. She’s blunt and honest, sometimes brutally so. She not necessarily lacking in compassion or humor, though. This archetype can be a literal queen, a mentor, or a really perceptive and truth-bomb dropping best friend.
Story ideas:
-A pushover learns to set up healthy boundaries
-Tell the story of a mentor’s journey
-Give a woman a sword that can only harm liars
Creative Life Prompts
Where do you need to shore up the boundaries around your creative work? Maybe try a new morning ritual to make your creative time sacred. Boundaries are usually about prioritizing our own needs first. It’s not selfish—it’s self care.
Have you been leading too much from your heart without enough head work to keep things balanced? Dream big and let that imagination run wild, but make sure you’re actually sitting down to do the work. Wishes don’t build ladders.
Where do you need to cut through the BS about your work? What’s the real truth of the matter? Sometimes we get ourselves off track because we listen to what others tell us works for them. This is how we get a case of the “shoulds”. They sound like this: “Even though I love writing horror, I should be writing thrillers because they’re hot now” or “I should be writing 5,000 words a day because X author said that’s how to do it” or “I should be further along by now.”
Are your shoulds in line with your actual goals? Have you questioned how these beliefs actually apply to your own definition of success? Sit down today and write out some of your shoulds and then figure out if they’re actually useful or if they’re getting in the way.
In comments, tell me one of your shoulds that doesn’t really work for you anymore.

Had a reading done years ago. I was the Queen of Swords. Think it fits.
This is an interesting message. It could apply to setting boundaries from others to stay healthy. For me often the messages from tarot cards can be obvious and sometimes over looked. Just a thought.
